The Bingtones are a 10pcs. original horn band comprised of many legendary rock & roll musicians from the likes of Sly Stone, Huey Lewis & the News, Boz Scaggs, Santana & Etta James etc.
Bing’s singing style is a vocal cocktail of many past great performers. The Bingtones original songs sound so familiar that many people find themselves saying ” Where have I heard this sound before?”
The Bingtones music is a blend of POP, R&B and Adult Contemporary that makes for a real pleasurable listening and dancing experience, a style of music that people can truly appreciate and enjoy. A timeless sound for the real music lover.
With the look and personality of an old school crooner, The Bingtones resemble bands from the past like Chicago, Blood, Sweat & Tears and Boz Scaggs. Bing likes to refer to it as ‘Rhythmic Nighttime music with soul.’ The band has a big, brassy sound. In addition to Collora as lead singer, keyboard and acoustic guitar player, the band is comprised of a 3 piece horn section, guitar, bass, piano, percussion, drums and back-up vocals. The sound isn’t the only unique aspect of The Bingtones, the whole make-up of the band, and the way it was assembled, is an interesting story.
Through an acquaintance Bing met drummer Jerry “Felix” Pellizzer. Bing was searching for a partner and Jerry was looking for an opportunity. After listening to Bing’s demo Jerry was sold on the idea of working with Bing. Before he knew it, Bing had a drummer, partner and a co-producer. From that point on the band began to fill in around them. The horn section reads like a “who’s who” among session players and the rest of the band has the years of experience necessary to round out the big sound.
