Rouge

Rouge is a hot girl’s classical/crossover band with a heavy metal influence based out of San Francisco. Started in 2009 by producer/composer and violinist Anna Stafford, the group performs a high-energy, virtuostic rendition of Stravinsky, Bon Jovi, Shostakovich, the Go-Gos, Flight of the Bumblebee, Canon in D and more in the vogue circus style, modern pop flair.

Performing in Rouge is electric violinist/director Anna Stafford (Kelly Clarkson, Mary J Blige, Yanni Voices, Kanye West). electric and classical cellist Robin Snyder (Kelly Clarkson, Monterey Symphony), classical pianist Bolor Ayush (Chopin Music Academy, Warsaw, Poland), and drummer Dave Murray (The Deserts of Traun). Drums also have been backed by MB Gordy (Battlestar Gallactica) and Anjilla Piazza (California Conservatory of the Arts).

Anna’s past productions include rock string quartet “String Music” (NPR, Ferrari of North America, International Musician, Strings Magazine, and K-Mozart) and five rock tribute albums for Vitamin Records (Thrice, Deftones, Lacuna Coil, INXS). Anna currently has two albums, “String Music” (2007) and “Staring at the Sky” (2008).
